Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does Tax Preparation Cost?

Our tax preparation services for individuals include one federal return, one state return, and one local return – if needed.  Our prices start at $225/year and go based on complexity.   Contact us for an up-front, transparent price.

Additional states are $65/each

Where are you located?

We are located in Wenatchee, Washington (Zip Code: 98801), but we work with U.S. taxpayers all over the global.

Location is not a factor to work with Boundless Advisors.

How do I send you my documents?

We utilize a secure state-of-the-art user portal to share information including tax documents.

Our portal includes an instant messaging system similar to Facebook messenger or texting in addition to forms and email.

Our portal also has an app for your Android or Apple-based smartphone or tablet.

How quickly will my tax return be complete?

We strive to have your tax return ready for your review within 7 business days of receiving all documents.  However, during times of extreme volume, it may be up to 30 days as outlined in our engagement letter.

Note: we have never had a client wait 30 days for their video review of their return.

What do you need to be able to do my taxes?

Our portal is designed to take the stress and guesswork out of tax time.  We take the information exchange one step at a time and walk you through every step.

However, at a minimum we need:

  • Full Name
  • Mailing Address
  • SSN
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • DOB
  • Photo of Valid ID (Front and Back)
  • Income documents

How does representation work?

Our representation cases have 3 stages

  1. Free 15-minute telephone/Zoom-type consult
  2. Discovery Phase
  3. Representation

Note: 50% of the discovery fee is credited towards the total representation fee. No one else is doing that!

What is Discovery?

Discovery is the 2nd step in our three-step process.  We request the last 10 years of history from the IRS/State and determine the root cause of your IRS/State issues.

Unlike other providers, our Discovery phase is completed by credentialed tax professionals (EA, CPA, or Tax Attorney) and not by sales closers.

At the end of the Discovery phase, you will receive written recommendations for the next steps, the cost of representation phase, and copies of IRS/State transcripts.

How much does the representation phase cost?

The fees for representation vary widely based on the complexities of the case.

Our representation plans start at $1,000 and our average fee is $3,000 – $5,000 which usually includes several years of tax preparation and filing.

All costs will be fully disclosed upfront and in writing.

Can I do this myself?

Yes, you can complete tax returns and tax debt resolution yourself.  The IRS is accessible to all taxpayers.

However, our team lives and breathes taxes and has for over 17 years.

We spent thousands of dollars a year and take hundreds of continuing education hours to ensure we are always 100% up-to-date on the current tax laws.  We collaborate with other professionals to develop best practices and know both when and how to push back at the IRS to ensure your Taxpayer Rights are protected.

You can also represent yourself in court (but, most people hire an attorney), you can change your own oil, etc  – but most people don’t.
